Venues Today & Pollstar Recognize Success at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena

SMG Jacksonville is excited to announce two leading industry magazines have listed the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena as one of the world’s top venues.

The July 2011 issue of Venues Today lists the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena as number 14 in the world and number ten in the United States among venues with a capacity of 10,001 – 15,000 seats. The ranking is based on concert and event grosses from October 16, 2010 through May 15, 2011.

In Pollstar’s Mid Year 2011 edition, released on July 18th, the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is listed as number 31 in the world and number 14 in the U.S. based on tickets sold worldwide for events held between November 1, 2011 and June 30, 2011.

SMG Jacksonville has consistently ranked in the top 100 venues in Pollstar and the top 20 in Venues Today since opening in 2003. “We are proud to manage an arena that has been embraced by the community and we’re fortunate to have so many live entertainment fans in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. Our goal is to continue to book a variety of events. The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is a multi-purpose arena with a capacity of 15,000 seats. The venue was built in 2003 as part of the Better Jacksonville Plan. The Arena is home to the AFL Sharks, the ABA Jacksonville Giants and the NCAA Jacksonville University Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams.
